GET INVOLVED

Children who have been placed in foster care have experienced harmful abuse or neglect that can have a lasting impact on their lives. The more caring, Christian adults a child has in their life, the more likely they are to experience God’s love and grace. They need a safe, loving family to take care of them as well as a dedicated team of people willing to invest in their lives.

There are a variety of ways to get involved. The Legacy Family Network recruits individuals and families willing to share their time, skills, or resources and connects them to a local foster child and their family.

“Each of you should use whatever gifts you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

1 Peter 4:10

SHARE YOUR TIME

Volunteers can share their time by:

  • Providing respite for a foster family
  • Becoming special grandparents or extended family to a child in care
  • Bringing meals to families
  • Praying
  • Mentoring a child
  • Tutoring
  • Hosting birthday parties or baby showers
  • Sending notes of encouragement
  • Helping kids with extracurricular activities

SHARE YOUR SKILLS

We are looking for hairstylists, mechanics, organizers, piano teachers, coaches, lawn care professionals, party planners, handymen or anyone else with a business or talent that can be used to serve others. The Legacy Family Network will connect those interested in sharing their skills to a foster child or family that can benefit from that specific service.

SHARE YOUR RESOURCES

Donations made to The Legacy Family Network enable our organization to provide quality, faith based support to the families and children that desperately need it. Fostering a child who has experienced trauma and neglect can be extremely difficult. They come with a unique set of parenting challenges in addition to the same difficulties we experience when raising our own biological children. Unfortunately, 60% of all foster families quit within the first year. Therefore, the child who has already been separated from their biological families will yet again be separated from their foster family and placed in another home. We want to stop that from happening by creating a strong, Christ centered support network that is willing to help families provide for the children in their care. We believe that if we unite together to show God’s love, children will begin to heal from their past and we can make an eternal difference in their lives!
