Most of us would say we strive to maintain boundaries and manage expectations with all people in our life. It is a continual process of change and growth. As caregivers that have chosen to parent some amazing kids, this process becomes an important quest. We will learn about the term Adoption Kinship Network, which entails all the people and entities that exist in the life of the child. This means birth families, foster families, school teachers, youth leaders, pediatricians, etc. There are some, however, within this network that may require us to examine our negative emotions, thoughts, and behaviors more carefully. We will identify the difficult areas of maintaining boundaries and the challenge of managing expectations with some of the folks involved in your lives. We will also develop some skills to improve our relationships within this network of people!
